The Making of Blue Pottery 

The whole process of making Blue Pottery involves four main steps:

• Pottery Making
• Designing & Painting
• Glazing
• Firing 

Part II:  Designing & Painting Blue Pottery

(1)  Designing the pottery:

             Using the potter's wheel to draw the design.

                      Drawing the design by hand.

(2)  Making the colors:

       The oxide colors!

The colors are ground with a "sila batti."                     Babool gum is added to the mixture.

(3)  Painting the Pottery:

Proceed to the next step: Glazing
